Esteban Santiago was an Iraq war veteran. The FBI looked into Esteban Santiago’s background and saw his military history but found no information to indicate radicalization. The FBI asked local police to take him to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. Esteban Santiago voluntarily checked himself in.

Terry Andres, Olga Woltering, Michael Oehme, were just a few identified victims of the shooting.13 people were shot and only 5 were killed. The shooter Esteban Santiago was only 26 years old.

A brother of the suspect, Bryan Santiago, told NBC News that Esteban grew up in Puerto Rico, where he served in the National Guard. He was deployed to Iraq for 10 months, moved to the Army Reserves and later moved to Alaska, where he served in the Alaska National Guard as a combat engineer. Ft Lauderdale Florida Airport Shooter Esteban Santiago

One of the reason’s I decided this was appropriate to post here is the fact that many of the things I post are about someone mentally ill. This individual who opened fire in Florida was clearly mentally ill.He should not have been in possession of a gun even if legally transporting it as required by law. This was a person who fought for our country. He was not expected to act the way he did.

In my opinion, if someone suffers from mental illness, even PTSD they should NOT be allowed to own a firearm under any circumstances. The world is a fucked up place filled with people with no regard for the safety of others. These people make bad choices and take things entirely too far. Why should the mentally ill be excused for murder? They shouldn’t. It makes as much sense as someone LEGALLY DEAF making fun of the handicapped. Are you serious? Really? I think Glen Schoen should know better (he definitely sounds deaf by the way) and though his mental illness cannot be resolved with medication he should be visiting a psychiatrist regularly who can show him how wrong his behavior and decisions are. Both this shooter and Glensroom require the very same mental evaluation. I am positive they will find some serious issues.
